Next, we’ll head toward Ollantaytambo, but not before stopping at Racchi Lookout, where you’ll be treated to some of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Sacred Valley. After taking in the scenery, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, giving you time to relax and reflect on the journey so far.

Then, we’ll explore Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire. Famous for its impressive agricultural terraces, known as “Andenes,” Ollantaytambo was both a fortress and a spiritual site, and it holds the distinction of being one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors were defeated in battle.

Our final stop takes us to the living Inca town of Ollantaytambo, a well-preserved example of ancient Inca city planning. With its narrow cobblestone streets and well-maintained buildings, this unique town has been continuously inhabited since the 13th century, offering an authentic glimpse into the past. With a lot of ground to cover today we will be starting early, picking you up from your hotel, with a bus service travelling through lakeside villages to the Bolivian border. Once in Bolivia we will arrive in Copacabana.

In Copacabana, we’ll take a moment to explore this charming lakeside town, known for its vibrant culture and stunning views of Lake Titicaca, before boarding a yacht for an unforgettable journey. As we sail across the glistening waters, our destination is the legendary Sun Island (Isla del Sol), revered as the mythical birthplace of the Inca civilization. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in history and culture, exploring fascinating sites and soaking in the island’s serene beauty during your visit.

After a few enriching hours on Isla del Sol, we’ll return to the yacht, where a delightful lunch awaits. Savor your meal as we cruise to another port, taking in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you. From there, we’ll drive to La Paz, Bolivia’s bustling capital and one of the highest cities in the world. Along the way, you’ll enjoy dramatic views of the Andean landscapes. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, perfectly situated for you to relax and unwind. Take the evening to prepare for another day of unforgettable experiences in La Paz, where a blend of colonial charm, indigenous traditions, and modern energy awaits.

Today promises an immersive exploration of the vibrant Bolivian capital, La Paz. Your day begins with a visit to some of the city’s traditional markets, including the fascinating and world-famous Witches’ Market. Here, you’ll encounter a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and scents as you browse stalls brimming with everything from colorful textiles to unique herbal remedies and mystical artifacts that reflect Bolivia’s rich cultural traditions.

Next, we’ll dive into the city’s historic heart, visiting iconic landmarks and colonial-era buildings such as those surrounding Plaza Murillo. This bustling square is home to the Presidential Palace, the National Congress, and the stunning La Paz Cathedral. As we wander through this architectural showcase, you’ll also hear intriguing tales of the city’s past. A stop outside the infamous San Pedro Prison offers a glimpse into its complex and unconventional history, as you learn the captivating story of how this unique institution operates.

For a change of perspective, we’ll hop aboard one of La Paz’s famed Mi Teleférico cable cars. This state-of-the-art transit system not only connects the city’s diverse neighborhoods but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the sprawling urban landscape framed by the towering Andes. It’s an unforgettable way to experience the city from above.

Finally, we’ll venture downhill to the surreal Moon Valley, a natural reserve known for its otherworldly landscape of jagged, weathered rock formations. Strolling through this extraordinary terrain, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped onto another planet, making it the perfect ending to a day filled with discovery and adventure in La Paz.

Your adventure begins with a morning transfer to La Paz airport for your flight to Uyuni. After a scenic 45-minute journey, you’ll land in this remote, high-altitude town, where our comfortable 4×4 vehicle will be waiting to whisk you away on an unforgettable Altiplano expedition.

Our journey starts with a drive across the mesmerizing Uyuni Salt Flats, the world’s largest salt desert. Along the way, we’ll make plenty of stops to capture stunning photos and explore points of interest, such as the bubbling Ojos de Agua or any wildlife we spot en route. Our first destination is the quaint village of Coquesa, where you’ll visit ancient mummies preserved in their mountaintop resting place. A short hike to a nearby viewpoint rewards you with sweeping views of the salt flats and the dramatic Tunupa Volcano—a truly breathtaking scene.

From there, we’ll venture deeper into the dazzling white expanse, heading to Incahuasi Island, a tiny oasis in the heart of the flats, dotted with towering cacti. The surreal “middle of nowhere” sensation is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. While this spot attracts many visitors, its unique beauty makes it a must-see destination.

Throughout your three-day journey, we’ll keep you fueled with simple yet delicious meals. Whether it’s a picnic lunch under the open sky or a cozy dinner at the end of the day, we’ll choose picturesque spots to make every meal a memorable part of your adventure.

After soaking in the incredible scenery and filling your camera with unforgettable shots at Incahuasi, we’ll continue across the salt flats to the charming village of Colchani, where your accommodations await. You’ll stay in a unique salt hotel, crafted almost entirely from salt bricks. These quirky and delightful lodgings offer a one-of-a-kind experience, blending comfort with the extraordinary landscape of the Uyuni Salt Flats.

Today, we venture deep into the high desert, embarking on a journey through some of the most striking and remote landscapes of the Altiplano. The route offers an ever-changing panorama of rugged terrain, volcanic peaks, and serene high-altitude lakes. Along the way, we’ll make frequent stops at points of interest to fully immerse ourselves in the region’s natural beauty. Be prepared to encounter wildlife such as graceful flamingos wading in lagoons, as well as hardy desert mammals.

Before leaving the Uyuni area, we’ll visit the hauntingly atmospheric “Train Cemetery.” This surreal site is home to the rusting remains of steam locomotives and railcars, originally imported from the UK with the hope of expanding Bolivia’s railway network. Those plans never materialized, and today these relics stand as poignant reminders of a bygone era. The stark contrast between the decaying machinery and the surrounding desert makes this a photographer’s dream and an unmissable stop.

As we continue, the day unfolds with a series of incredible highlights. Among them is the Hedionda Lagoon, a stunning body of water that attracts vibrant flocks of flamingos, whose reflections create mesmerizing scenes. The unusual San Cristobal Church, relocated stone by stone during a mining project, stands as a testament to Bolivia’s cultural and architectural heritage.

The road is flanked by majestic volcanoes and dramatic mountain landscapes, each view seemingly more impressive than the last. Every turn offers a new photo opportunity and a deeper connection to the raw beauty of this region. As the sun dips lower in the sky, we’ll arrive at tonight’s accommodation: the Tayka del Desierto hotel. Perched in complete isolation near the Chilean border, this charming retreat offers a warm and cozy haven amid the vast expanse of the desert.

Today, we journey even deeper into the breathtaking high-altitude wilderness of the Bolivian Altiplano. Setting out from your hotel, we traverse the stark yet stunning landscapes, making our way to one of the region’s most iconic natural wonders—the “Rock Tree.” This unique stone formation, sculpted by the wind into the shape of a tree, is a must-see and perfect for an unforgettable photo. Along the way, you’ll also encounter other fascinating rock formations, each a masterpiece of nature.  

Our next stop is the dazzling Laguna Colorada, a multicolored salt lake that captivates with its vivid red hues, white mineral deposits, and flocks of pink flamingos that grace its shores. From there, we head to the surreal Sol de Mañana geothermal field, where you’ll witness the otherworldly sight of steam vents and bubbling mud pools — a stark reminder of the earth’s raw power.  

Continuing our adventure, we arrive at the natural hot springs of Polques, a perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate. With changing facilities available, you can enjoy a soothing dip in the warm waters while taking in the incredible desert views. Once refreshed, we journey through the surreal landscapes of the Dali Desert, with its barren beauty and dreamlike scenery, before reaching the striking Laguna Verde. This emerald-green lake, framed by the towering Licancabur Volcano, is a serene yet dramatic highlight of the day.  

After soaking in the tranquility of Laguna Verde and its surrounding vastness, we begin our return journey. As the circuit winds back to Uyuni, you’ll have time to reflect on the incredible sights and experiences of this unforgettable day, preparing for your flight home from La Paz, with memories to last a lifetime.
